Football fans have sent a request to Jamie Vardy ahead of the Premier League game against Manchester United at the weekend.
City welcome Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to the King Power Stadium on Saturday as they look to make it three wins in a row over the Red Devils in all competitions.
Brendan Rodgers’ men came out as 2-1 winners in the last meeting between the two sides at the end of last season thanks to goals from Luke Thomas and Caglar Soyuncu.
United have been hit with an injury problem ahead of the game with both first-choice centre-backs in Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire both expected to be ruled out through injury.
That news could come as music to the ears of Jamie Vardy who is currently joint-top of the Premier League goalscoring chart with Liverpool’s Mo Salah having scored six goals in the opening seven Premier League games.
That has led to BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson saying that Vardy will be a key player in the game.
Another player who may be seen as key for the opposition is Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese international was left out of the starting XI for United’s draw against Everton but could be drafted back in at the King Power Stadium at the weekend.
The United man is famous for his ‘suii’ celebration, something that was replicated by Andros Townsend when he scored Everton’s equaliser before the international break.
Ahead of the game against Man United, Vardy put a post on social media reading: “Focus on Saturday. @LCFC.”
The post gave fans the chance to make a simple request on both Twitter and Instagram should Vardy find the net.
Jack : you MUST do the CR7 celebration if you score on Saturday Jamie.
@baikie0302 : I beg do the ssuiiii
@melvinh10 : Dooo siiiiiii when you score
@niklas_schnabel : siuu celebration on saturday
@stanmbarker : Please do the siiiiiii if/when you score!
City fans will be hoping that the only time that they see the celebration will be if Vardy completes that request.
