CB boxing tourney attracts 100 – Zambia Daily Mail

OVER 100 boxers from across the country will today enter the ring to showcase their skills during the Copperbelt Boxing Tournament at Indeni Sports Complex which the Zambia Boxing Federation is using to select the under-20 national team. The boxers are drawn from the 24 ZBF-affiliated clubs from Copperbelt, Lusaka, Central and Southern provinces. The boxers picked will represent Zambia at the Africa Union (AU) Games slated for Lesotho in December.“We are confident that from this event,

his boxers need to start fighting in competitive events if they are to win medals at the Tokyo Games billed for July.“Our friends are in Russia preparing and here we are,” he said. “What competition can the boxers going to the Olympics get from the ones who have not qualified?” Mudenda said he understands that COVID-19 has affected the preparations but stressed that it will be suicidal for his boxers to go to Tokyo without testing competitive fighters. “At the end of the day, the coach will be the one to blame if these boxers fail to perform in Tokyo,” he said.Meanwhile, ZBF has opened the nominations for this month’s elective CLICK TO READ MORE
