Bryce Harper, J.T. Realmuto not in Phillies’ lineup

Philadelphia Phillies right fielder Bryce Harper, catcher J.T. Realmuto and shortstop Didi Gregorius are not in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the host Toronto Blue Jays as they recover from injuries.

Harper, who is day to day, left Saturday’s 4-0 loss to Toronto after two at-bats with soreness in his right shoulder. Scott Kingery will replace Harper in right field and bat eighth.

A six-time All-Star, Harper missed four games earlier this month after being hitting in the face with a pitch.

Realmuto also left Saturday’s loss with a sore left hand. Andrew Knapp with start behind the against the Blue Jays and bat sixth.

Realmuto missed a pair of games earlier this month after suffering a contusion on his hand while trying to block a pitch in the dirt.

Gregorius, who is out with a sore right elbow, will miss his fourth straight game. Nick Maton will continue to start for Gregorius and bat ninth on Sunday.

Gregorius’ injury is to the same elbow he had surgically repaired in 2018. The soreness has made it difficult for him to swing a bat.

Harper, 28, entered Sunday hitting a team-leading .313 with seven home runs and 11 RBI in 32 games. Realmuto, 30, is hitting .294 with four home runs and 17 RBI in 35 games.

In 32 games this season, Gregorius, 31, is batting .229 with four home runs and 22 RBI.

The Phillies (21-19), who entered Sunday trailing the first-place New York Mets by a half-game in the NL East, have a scheduled off day Monday before hosting the Miami Marlins for a three-game set.
