Lomachenko, 33, is a former three weight world champion and one of the most successful amateur boxers of all-time, boasting an incredible record of 396 wins and one loss from 397 bouts.
That background should hold him in good stead if he does end up swapping the ring for the octagon, with the Matrix dropping his biggest hint yet that he could switch codes in the near future.
The Ukrainian bruiser shared a video of him unboxing a personalised UFC kit, including gloves, which had been sent by his sponsors, Venum.
Before opening the box, he said: “So, I just got a box from Venum and [the] UFC, so let’s see what’s inside.”
After revealing a pair of shorts that also came with the kit, Lomachenko said: “Okay, so maybe in the future, someday. Nobody knows.”
He ended the short clip by saying: “Thank you very much. A big thank you to Venum. I appreciate it.”
Fans were quick to comment on the video, with one asking: “When is the UFC debut?”
Another wrote: “Loma UFC Champion.”
While a third went with: “Imagine the PPV for Loma in the UFC.”
Lomachenko has been out of action since losing his undisputed lightweight title fight with Teofimo Lopez in October.
That was only the second professional defeat of Loma’s career – and he didn’t take it lying down, complaining to ESPN: “My opinion now after watching (Teofimo Lopez clash) a lot of times, my opinion it was a draw.”
Fans may be waiting a while for the star to make his UFC debut, but it’s not long before Loma is back in the boxing ring.
He is due to take on Japan’s Masayoshi Nakatani on June 26 in Las Vegas.
